What are the relevant applications of producer gas in conventional heating furnaces?

Furnace gas is mainly used for heating in steelmaking furnaces, glass kilns, coke ovens, etc. It can also be used as fuel for boilers or mixed with water gas as feed gas for synthesizing ammonia and methanol. During production, solid fuels such as coal and coke are placed into a gas producer using air (or oxygen) and a small amount of steam to gasify them, resulting in the production of producer gas.

The fuel temperature can meet the heating temperature requirements of steel billets: the Z-high heating temperature of ordinary steel billets is generally within the range of 1000-1350 ℃. The calorific value of the two-stage gas furnace is 6490kJ/m3. If the air preheating temperature is calculated at 300 ℃, the theoretical combustion temperature is 2300 ℃. If the furnace temperature coefficient is calculated at 0.7, a furnace temperature of 1610 ℃ can be obtained, which fully meets the requirements of the rolling line. Feasibility of combustion technology: The width of the heating furnace in the workshop is less than 4m, and the use of side heating and end heating can meet the requirements of the heating process. To achieve this, simply replace the original oil burner with an oil and gas dual-purpose burner, without the need for any other changes and with less investment. Strong radiation heat transfer in flue gas: The radiation ability of the three atomic gases CO2 and H2O in flue gas is strong, and their concentrations play a decisive role in radiation heat transfer. That is, the higher the concentration of CO2 and H2O in gas fuel, the stronger the radiation heat transfer in flue gas. The concentration of CO2 and HO in the combustion products of coal gas can reach about 28%, and the concentration of CO2 and H2O in the combustion products of specific gravity oil is high, so its radiation heat transfer is strong. Convenient furnace temperature control and good heating quality: As gas is a gas fuel, gas fuel and air are molecular mixtures, and molecular mixtures are easier than non-molecular mixtures of liquids, the adjustment is convenient, which is beneficial for adjusting and controlling the furnace temperature of the heating furnace. Moreover, due to the good mixing of gas and air, the flame is uniform, and there are no drawbacks such as poor atomization, concentrated flames, hot spots, and cold spots when directly burning heavy oil. Therefore, the temperature of the steel billet is uniform, and the oxidation and burning losses are minimal.
